Jared Anderson is an Associate Worship Pastor at 14,000-member New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this role, he serves as worship leader and director of the Saturday Night Worship Band as well as a worship leader and band director for New Life’s Sunday services. In addition, Jared frequently leads worship for Promise Keepers’ national conferences and also is a member of the critically acclaimed modern worship band Desperation Band.
Writer of the popular worship songs “Rescue,” “Amazed” and “Beauty of the Lord,” Anderson recently stepped away from his collaborative efforts to work on a solo album, Where To Begin. The result sounds, he says, like Ben Folds leading worship, or the church-going offspring of Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell.
Anderson’s artistry has blossomed at New Life Church where he works alongside Worship Pastor Ross Parsley. Anderson, a 26-year-old Oral Roberts University alum credits the collaborative and nurturing environment at New Life for allowing him to pursue his musical gifts and the opportunities that have come his way. “There’s a philosophy of freedom at the church and the leadership empowers people into whatever comes out naturally, letting people do what’s in them to do,” he explains. “That’s created an environment of innovation.”
Jared, his wife Megan and their two young sons reside in Colorado Springs.
