Ron Dicianni

I had the privelege of meeting and spending some time with renowned artist Ron Dicianni. Mr. Dicianni is a well known Christian artist who is displaying some of his artwork at the Victory Christian Center church this week. For those who have been to my home, or in my office you have seen many of the works of Ron Dicianni. I went up to see the paintings this afternoon, but was suprised when I was told they were having some trouble with some of the displays. As I was waiting in the lobby, I saw Ron Dicianni, and began a lengthy conversation. He was very delightful. He talked about his love of painting and his desire to reclaim the arts for Christ. Before his venture into Christian art, he was a well know artist in the secular world, but he told me that he always had a desire in his heart to bring his art to the Christian community. We also spoke about how it is his desire to paint works of art that display the body of Christ in a way that makes people think. He said that art always carries a message with it. We talked about family, and he said what kind of messages do we want to send to our families. If we have pictures of a boat, or pictures of Michael Jordan, or the latest entertainer in the rooms of our houses we are sending a message, sometimes a message or influence of people we would never allow to enter our house an influence our families, but that through art or pop culture we allow to send messages that sometimes go against our own beliefs. It is his desire to create works of art that would draw individuals and families towards the presence of God in their lives. What an amazing concept. Worship through art. One of Dicianni's most famous paintings is called the "Prodigal" and amazing depiction of the prodigal son returning home. He shared with me that many years after he painted this picture, he experienced a similar scene with his son who had ran away from the faith that he had been taught, but returned home to his family and to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was blown away by how genuine Ron was, and how he was so trasparent in his sharing. If you have never seen any of his works, I encourage you to click on the following . You won't be disappointed.
